China’s rapidly growing economy demands expanding energy supply.  In fact, by 2020, the Chinese government expects energy demand to grow by 250% to an expected 6,000TWh per year.  Contrary to popular misconceptions, the Chinese government realizes that it is facing an environmental crisis as a result of it’s rapid growth and industrialization and that meeting it’s energy needs by solely continuing to build and operate fossil fueled power plants will also more than double greenhouse gas output to over 10,000 Mt per annum.

China’s 2006 National Renewable Energy Law greatly expanded allocations for clean energy production including wind, solar and bio-mass generation.  It is widely expected that the allocations issued in 2006 will be greatly expanded in the near term.  SinoTransPacific is currently working with Chinese enterprises to expand capabilities and to implement green manufacturing initiative in meeting China’s growing clean energy needs.

One of the biggest steps China has taken to promote the development of it’s Clean Energy Technology sector was the creation of the China Energy Valley (CEV) the officially designated Clean Energy High Technology Industrial Development Zone in Baoding, China.  Located approximately 90 miles from Beijing, the city of Baoding (population 11 million) has long been a focus of the energy industry in China.  One of the anchor enterprises operating in this of the CEV, Yingli Green Energy enjoyed a very successful IPO on the New York Stock Exchange (symbol YGE) in May 2007.  The CEV is also home to a national wind energy research center, several wind power companies, energy efficient LED lighting manufacturers, and other clean tech enterprises.  SinoTransPacific is proud to enjoy a close collaborative relationship with the CEV, and assists foreign enterprises who want to invest and operate there.
